Facilitation Design Project, New York, 2017

This was a project in my Fundamentals of Design for Social innovation class, at MFA, Design for Social Innovation program, School of Visual Arts. As a team project, I collaborated with two other students. The task was to choose a social topic, listening for, designing and conducting new conversations stillness. During the time of the project, President Trump had just been elected as the president of the United States and this caused a lot of tension in various communites includign non-immigrats and immigrants. Our purpose and goal as a team was to explore our the various idedntities in the then social and political atmosphere and how we could be effective in our sphere of influence by creating a “space where people felt safe to help them navigate their various thoughts, worries and concerns.

My Role:

I reached out and brought the group of participants together for the project as well as conducted the initial interviews to ensure they were all on the same page and where aware of the expectations, developed the interior look and feel for the space making do with what we had available, as a facilitator I directed the conversations and kept the group on time.
